family day

Our family lost a wonderful lady last week.  Gram’s sister Mary Ellen died after a battle with cancer, and we gathered Wednesday evening, about 400 of us, to remember her.  Emmett spent Tuesday night and Wednesday by himself with Nana & Poppy, while Mike & I went out to dinner, and then I had a doctor’s appointment Wednesday morning before driving up to CT for the service in the late afternoon.  Emmett played with Gram Gram Wednesday morning, bringing her upstairs to show her his crib at Nana & Poppy’s house.  Nana went up there a bit later and found that she’d lifted him into his crib so he could show her all his buddies!

Later, during the funeral, Emmett went to Sandi Lynn’s house, where he got to play with Ian, Devon & Lila, as well as Sandi Lynn, Mike & Beanie.  I got these pics of him eating homemade mac & cheese and peeking with Ian!  I heard that he had a blast and won all the games of racing cars they played.  He was very excited when he got back, and told me had fun and raced cars and ate cookies.

We had a BLAST! You can see his winning Mail Truck in his hand! He wasn’t too keen on letting any of us use the Mail Truck . . . it won each and every race! Oh what FUN! :)
